Taking money out of account

On Feb. 3,2011 Great fun took the $19.99 out of my account. I then called and talked to a representative and she told me that since they had took the money that I need to try and find something on the website to get some benefits from it and to call back before next month to cancel. I then look at my statement again and on the 7th they are trying to take another $19.99 out of my account and this will make my account overdrawn. I do not have the money to keep paying them for nothing and I sure do not want 2 payments taken! Now I am upset! I am writing this to let them know and then I will be calling them when I get home!

We never recieved any mail or e-mail from them saying we became members and they were taking 11.99 a month out of our account. Unauthorize charges

I have no idea who these people are,I contacted them last month when I noticed a 15.00 charge to my debit card. I`ve never received any notices or material in the mail about any membership. I checked my debit cards last 10 transactions and there was that 15.00 charge again. I told the representative of TLC Great Fun that I wanted to cancel the membership that I never signed up for. I was told that no more charges would be made to my card. well they lied. How can i get a full refund? thank you

Hi DesireeAllen42, I think your experience could help a building class action against this company and Great Fun. The parent company is Trilegiant and basically they use bogus marketing, like $10 checks in the mail and pop-up windows at sites like Orbitz and 1-800-Flowers (and so on), to sign people up to memberships without their knowledge. They also get people to unknowingly sign up for things like credit protection when they call to pay bills by phone.

Here are some details. Contact Freed & Weiss right away. Sharing your experience will help.

Trilegiant Scam: HELP STOP IT!

Trilegiant is behind more consumer abuse. Take action and contact Freed & Weiss - info @ freedweiss (dot) com (No Spaces), or call, toll free 866.779.9610

Here's more information:

Customers of websites like 1-800-Flowers.com, Travelocity, Shutterfly, and Orbitz (to name only a few) are reporting mysterious monthly reoccurring charges to their credit cards.

Thanks to marketing tactics (i.e., those pop-up windows) used during check out, without proper consent consumers are accidentally joining club memberships and having to pay for them monthly!

Most people don't even realize they are being charged every month for a service they never ordered!

PLEASE CONTACT FREED & WEISS IMMEDIATELY if you - or anyone you know - has reoccurring charges after purchasing from any of these companies.

GreatFun ripp off answer I have!

I also had this problem (10-11/2010) What I did: contacted Fed, and state attorney generals office. Called Westerville Ohio office. Spoke to Robert Lilly. Told them right off I was also recording hte conversatin for legal purposes, State Attorney General Fraud office and my own Lawyer. They agreed without any problems to refund my $139.99 debited October and 20.20 which they had refused to refund under the "Pro-Rated" category. I told them cut teh BS I want all my money back. They agreed to do so,but had great difficulty figuring out the total. Kept telling me "Yes, we have refunded your $139.99" but couldn't get an ACCURATE figure of $160.19. I had to tell them how to add it up and get a REAL TOTAL. They hesitantly "agreed" with some obfuscation. Whatever. I will see in next "7-10 days" if money reall yback. That's all BUT folks, if you go online to a "secure site (https)" remember that these guys will SELL your credit/debit information in a VERY SHORT TIME to people like these. CALL FIRST BEFORE YOU BUY - secure? Yeah, right.

TLG* Great Fun

These people are CROOKS. They've been charging my credit/debit card $12.99 a month since 2008. I called them and demanded a refund. They transfered me to "The Office of the President" of great fun inc where I was instructed to leave a voice mail, they'd return my call... Still waiting. I've filed a complaint with the PA Atty. Generals office in hopes of getting these ....... shut down and a refund of 311.76. Good Luck on that one but I hope the Attorney General goes after them. The customer service personel all have accents that sound like they're from the FAR EAST (India) I spoke with a customer service rep., her supervisor then her supervisor before being transfered to "THE PRESIDENT". They claim the membership was an offer attached to an order placed with Current Catalog sales but Current knows nothing about it. We've been dealing with Current since the mid 90's and found them to be very trustworthy. This makes me hesitent to purchase anything online for fear vultures like this will pull another scam. I just had another incident with an adult web site that said I joined them 3 months ago. I contacted their billing service and reported it as FRAUD. They claim to be giving me a full refund.

Tlgrtfn is a fraud!

When I called TLG they told me my charges were for credit card protection services. I no longer receive those services but the charge is still there. This constitutes a Scam as far as I am concerned. I am sure I missed the fine print saying they were having Great Fun ripping me off! Is there a class action suit against this company? If not how do I make sure my name is on the suit when it gets started? It only makes sense there will be one. Charges for services you don't receive is illegal. Right? When they only plan to provide minimal services for a short period and rip you off!

Debit money from account without consent

This letter is to complain about what the company great fun has been charging on my bank account without my consent. They are debiting $ 11.90 from my account every month for a service I do not know about and which I never required. I have tried to get in contact with them but the lines are always busy and they asked too many questions before they put me through a representative. I want to them to eliminate my membership from their records, something I never agreed on and besides I demand a full refund of the all the charges they have performed during all this months.

Major scam! Have to cancel my credit card to get rid of them

This whole thing is a joke. I called them to dispute this random charge they have been charging my credit card. The guy could barely speak english on the phone. They said I signed up for this when I got shoes on "SHOE BUY.COM" which I did not. I have been spending hours with my credit card company to keep disputing the charges that are continuously coming. I can't get rid of this!!!! I will wind up cancelling my credit card to stop the charges. Very time consuming and I am FURIOUS! I am tired of being scammed by these companies. I am wondering if Shoe-buy is on this too as part of a scam or if it was a coverup. Beware where you order online.

Tlg great fun didn't close my account when asked to and kept charging

I found great fun online while looking for travel information. Evidently I signed up for something that I didn't realized I signed up for. I tried to cancel my account and contacted great fun online after seeing unauthorized charges on my credit card. Yet, even after contacting them I've still been receiving charges from them, multiple times a month! I can't contact the company through the posted phone number, and online obviously didn't work. I ended up having to cancel my credit card to end the unauthorized charges. My next step is to try to find legal help to get my money back. GREAT FUN IS A FRAUD!!!

No Authorization

I did not give them credit card authorization; is there an email address that I can get through to them with? I don't even know what they "supply" so it would be a great help if I could have an email address to contact them in order to get them office my card.I have had a charge of $12.99 every month since July (yeah, it takes me awhile to see that I'm being ripped off) and now I really fed up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help. Momcat, Nevada, USA, OK Done.

Who is overseeing customer interests and safety?

A few days ago I looked over my online statement and found a $36.99 debit charge by a company that I did not recognize, nor did I recognize the amount. I called my husband asking whether he recognized the charge or the company. He was as surprised as I was. We have never had anything to do with this company.... and having lived out of the country till recently, this fraudulent charge was even more apparent. We then googled the company's name and saw a flurry of customer complaints and fraudulent charges. ... And these guys are still out there doing it??? amazing. We immediately notified our bank, blocked our account and were issued new debit cards and numbers. Our Bank will investigate and take this to the next level and prosecute and I have filed all the necessary papers in support of this. Our bank also credited back to us the contested amount. any one else, the Bureau for betterBusiness ought to be involved qnd some sort of customer protection agency: these people are not just robbers qnd seasoned crooks, they are unrepentant criminals taking your money routinely and laughing all the way to the bank....

Contact your financial instution and have them put a stop on the ACH. You can always have them close the account and open a different one under a new account number. Tell them you want to dispute the charges and that its fraud.

Great Fun scammed me for 1 year @ $12.99 / month

I changed my ATM card at TD Bank - then received a collection notice for $12.99 from Processing Center, Box 40647, Nashville TN 37204-****. Called them and found out that they had my old ATM card and billed me for 1 year at $12.99 per month for enrollment at www.GreatFun.com.

I said I never enrolled in the program and they did not care.

Then, called TD bank to remove charges and they said sorry, it is your fault for not reviewing your statement each month. We can only take off the past 60 days and you lose the rest of the money!
