TLG Great Fun complaint by Jeff Coates

TLG GREAT FUN

I was receiving a $12.99 charge on a prepaid MC that I use to pay recurring, fixed rate bills(cable, internet...etc....) showing up from TLG GREAT FUN. The phone number listed on the charge was 800-272-7771. This number actually rings up a fairly nice guy working for PNY Memory who says he is getting ALOT of calls like mine.

Looking thru some of the older posts, I found 800-290-8603, which is a good number for TLG GREAT FUN. I finally got a live person on the phone and explained my situation. She said I joined thru CLASSMATES and that I was supposed to be getting a packet worth 100s of $ in discounts on travel, food, etc.......she said it was showing as mailed out in February. To date, I have never received anything from them.

Luckily, for me, it was a prepaid card and the money on it is direct deposited by my job and is usually gone by the 10th.

The lady I spoke with was very friendly and polite. She, of course, triued to convince me to stay as an active account, but I made sure she understood in no uncertain terms was my account to remain active.

I guess they post the bogus number to redirect peoples complaint calls.

1-800-290-8603 is a good number for TLG GREAT FUN customer service.

I just saw a transaction for $14.99 on my card. I called the bank and they said I signed up for a membership online. I had never even heard of TLG Great Fun before. I called 866-584-2461 and they said they would refund my money and cancel my membership. Then I read this article and call the other number posted 800-290-8603. This sounded more professional and the rep. actually tried to get me to keep the membership, but of course I said no. We'll see if I get my money back. They told me I signed up for this when I signed up for True Credit, which allows me to future my credit report online. They hide the monthly fees in the Terms and Agreements - who the heck ever reads those. I know from now on I am not making any purchases online for signing up for anything anymore. It's ridiculous!!!

I am in the same boat...I just found out that I have been charged $12.99 since last November, for something that I do not even know.I called the 800 290 8603, but they are closed now.Called the MC credit card and they said to take it up with TLG on monday.I will keep you posted on the outcome, worst case I will cancel the card and dispute the charges.

Oh decided to look at last 6 mths. Back in jan. had a transaction from this same place for 12.99 but at the time was using the account and never looked at the records. Didn't ever think someone else be getting in making transactions but me. Guess if I had the money to cover the 12 99 this time I would have never realized this was going on . Just like in Jan. there was no reason to get online and look , I had money and just kind of kept up with what I was spending. I am frustrated times 100 now.. Now they own me twice the money and must get this straight Mon. Didn't want to close my account totally but now I may have to. we will see. This has to stop...

This also happened to me. I had a checking account that I did not use because I got another one. So I left 3.52 in it so I wouldn't have to close it down. Well low and behold I get a letter from my bank says 12.99 came through from TLGGreatFn and they paid it yet they charged me the 20.00 overdraft fee. I'm so pissed. I dont do priceline or classmates oe seen any checks .. nothing absolutely nothing.. How in the *** does this place get our bank account numbers? Everything is so security coded and what not now.. so how do they get access to our actual account numbers. Please I have seen so man of the same messages here. Why arent they shut down yet and what can I do to help shut down them. Now I have to call and deal with my bank and how do I know this wont happen again.. So frustrated.

I had the same problem. Only I was in the process of switching banks, and I had 1 bill that couldn't be transferred in time. So I left my account open for an additional 2 weeks, leaving just enough money in to cover that bill, and guess what? A charge on my account revealed TLG*GREATFN had bounced my freaking checking account on top of my other bill!!!!!! The number I got to call was 1-800-285-5903, and like many of you, I spoke to some woman in India who constantly was trying to tickle my ear with to good to be true offers, to "upgrade" my membership. Things like hotel discounts and rental car vouchers. Pure scammers, just like Gevalia coffee!!!!

I just noticed this morning that I'm being charged 12.99 twice a month for the past 4 months from TLG*Greatfn. I called the number provided 866-584-2461. Spoke to a young lady who said she would give me 2 free months if I kept my account going. She also stated that my information was received from classmates.com! I've located a number for classmates to take this up with them 425-917-5000. We'll see where this gets me... hopefully further than TLG*Greatfn! I've filed fraud charges with my bank and will be canceling every account I have online that requires me to give my credit card information. Sad that this world has come to this! No one can be trusted now-a-days!!!

I was charged twice in the amount of 35.99 each time. I tried calling the number 800-290-8603 and was told they are closed and to call back during regular business hours. I have no idea where this charge originated from. This is outrageous.

I too was charged 11.00 for TLG GreatFun . When I called to ask about this charge since they had supposedly extended my free trial membership and were not to be charging me. I was told that this was not a charge by Great fun but for a company called Travel Advantage that I had supposedly signed up for when I made an online hotel reservation. I had no information or mailings from this so called service I had "signed up for" . When I looked up this company on the internet I could not find it. I was told my money would be refunded in the next 7-10 days(like I am holding my breath)and they gave me a cancelation number for Travel Advantage then wanted to know if I wanted to continue my Great Fun membership. So much Great fun it was to talk to these people and cancel everything I may have signed up for. One more thing.. is this resourced out to India ? Everyone I spoke to was female with an accent that made it very to understand what they were saying except for "yes maam I understand and thank you for calling Great Fun."

Great Fun is no fun. I see that some victims were billed $11.99. These blackguards seem to hate some of us more than others, they billed me $119.99 ! on this month's statement. I am tracking down previous thefts. The bank says that TLG gets its hooks in via bank checks, 'tain't so.
